Interview with Jakub Honzík, Solicitor and Advokát, co-founder of the AAP. This interview consists of answers to questions from the AAP member questionnaire.                                                                                                    

1.Are you a sole practitioner?

I am a sole practitioner – I am fully qualified in both English and Czech law.

2. Where are you located geographically?

I am based in Prague – my office is in Prague 5. I provide legal services to client from both Czech Republic and abroad.

3. What four areas of law do you focus on?

  • Company law
  • Criminal law
  • Family law
  • Civil litigation

4. How did you qualify to provide legal services in both Czech and English law?

I studied law in both the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. I took full route to qualification in Prague after studying at the Charles University in Prague and worked in several law firms in the Czech Republic. In England, I studied at the University of Warwick and later did my vocational training at the University of Law in London. I also have masters degrees from University of Law and University of London in International private practice and European law, respectively. I am registered with the CBA as well as SRA as a sole practitioner.

5. What kind of clients do you prefer to work with?

Most of my clients are private clients requiring complex legal services for their businesses, including companies from the Czech Republic as well as from the United Kingdom. I also provide advice on family law and, if necessary, conduct litigation. I also defend my clients when they are targeted by criminal prosecution.

6. What is it that you love about practising law?

I like to find effective and practical solutions for my clients. Every new case represents an individual challenge as well as an opportunity to learn something new. I prefer cases with international aspects.
